Gig Posters
Project
An ongoing series of self-initiated gig posters.
CW Stoneking
With a repertoire featuring songs about adventure, jungles and shipwrecks the poster draws from the classic film The African Queen showing the singer lost in song while danger looms around the edges.
JD McPherson
For a special streaming concert celebrating the anniversary of McPherson’s debut album, the poster imagines a world where a handy music lover has fashioned a broadcasting system from long forgotten basement relics.
Rufus Wainwright
Performing his catalogue backed by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the poster positions Wainwright as an otherworldly master of ceremonies casting his musical spell.
Nick Cave
For an intimate series of concerts advertised as “Conversation with Nick Cave” the musician’s pose is that of a listener, leaning to hear the crowd as much as they hear him.
Hawksley Workman
Playing on the name of his backing band The Wolves, the poster suggests a world where once the moon comes up the animals plug in and make some noise.
